 Jessica surendorff was born in South Africa, and has her academic background based in Australia. After completing a Bachelor of Arts & Communications at the University of Western Australia, and an Advanced Diploma in Screen (majoring in Production Design) at the Central Institute of Technology Perth, Jessica worked in documentary and film production in Perth, WA. 

 

In 2010, Jessica moved to Canada basing herself in Montreal. She has since worked on productions ranging from independent films as Art Director to Hollywood features fulfilling various roles in the Art Department, Props, Set Dec, Sculpture and Painting. She was selected for Screen Australia's 'Enterprise People' funding in 2020 to undertake training at Film Design International at Pinewood Studios, London.

Numerous independent projects that Jessica has art directed, co-produced and co-written have been presented in international film circuits - most notably at the Toronto International Film Festival,“Canada: Not Short on Talent” at Festival du Cannes, Vancouver International Film Festival, Dubai International Film Festival, Festival de Nouveau Cinema, Les rendez-vous du cinéma québécois and Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival. 

 

Jessica is passionate about creating new worlds with her writing and art direction, and is also passionate about exploring new worlds.

An avid traveler; Jessica has explored over 50 countries.
